Gulf BID 2010

IN LINE with its objective of helping global companies enter the Bahrain market and introduce innovative ideas, Bahrain-based Al Hayat Group is back at gulfBID along with its joint venture partners with hopes of tapping the huge opportunities offered by the market.

Building on its successful association with gulfBID over the past three years, Al Hayat Group will this year introduce its two Spanish joint venture partners Ingenieria Y Control Remoto (ICR), an engineering company specialised in designing control systems and software, and Aplica Morteros Especiales, a leading special mortar manufacturer.

Al Hayat Group managing director Hussain Al Alawi says gulfBID offers a perfect venue to introduce its products and services and demonstrate to visitors how they can benefit from them.

“One of our targeted markets is the water industry as ICR is specialised in designing control systems and software, control devices for desalination plants, sewers systems and water treatment plants,” he says.

Among the innovations that will be promoted by ICR is a new automatic irrigation system for large populations, called Hidrobus.

“We are also keen to introduce ICR to the market as developers of automation buildings technology,” Al Alawi continues. ICR’s system can control alarms, access to buildings, temperature, surveillance systems and the flow of the air and is widely used for hospitals, for example, in preventing the air flow from spreading infections.

ICR’s general manager Javier Fernández Lorca says the company has already been in touch with key industry players and leading businessmen in the kingdom, with negotiations for potential deals under way.

Meanwhile, Aplica offers products and solutions for tiling, finishing, decoration, environment-friendly mortars, concrete repair, anchoring, cosmetic and sealing mortars; self-leveling mortars, chemical additives and insulation and waterproofing.

Al Hayat Group exclusively represents many international firms and is affiliated to several globally operating companies in Bahrain, enabling them to set up base in the region by way of joint ventures, representations as well as marketing and branch agreements.

“We perform the vital role of a business incubator in the region supporting foreign companies with vital infrastructure, human and financial resources and market intelligence. We have established a significant presence in the real estate, information technology, travel, fashion and construction sectors,” says Al Alawi.

The group, through its affiliates, has more than 50 years of experience in providing a diverse range of engineering and construction services that include design, engineering, construction, as well as project management and maintenance for hotels, high-quality commercial buildings, development of ports and terminals worldwide.

The group says the new year began on a positive note and attributes its success to developing long-term relationships with clients, its response-oriented management, monitoring market developments efficiently and identifying opportunities, besides it successful application of information technology to bring the entire team of employees, principals, vendors and customers on the same platform.

Its future plans centre on its corporate strategy to join forces with distinct global companies to introduce new and innovative ideas.

Al Hayat Group was established in the early 1980s and is headquartered at the Almoayyed Tower in Seef District.
